OUR STORY
From witnessing adversity in post-war Germany to leading innovative water solutions in disaster zones around the world — this is the journey of Capt. Moses A. West and the foundation that bears his name.

MEET MOSES A. WEST
Moses A. West's journey — from witnessing adversity in post-war Germany to leading innovative water solutions on four continents — embodies the spirit behind the Moses West Foundation. With a rich background in leadership, developed through a distinguished military career and culminating in his visionary work in atmospheric water generation, Moses has been pivotal in addressing one of the most pressing global issues: water scarcity.
A retired U.S. Army Captain, Moses served with the 75th Ranger Regiment, the 2nd Armored Division, the 2nd Infantry Division, the 7th Cavalry Regiment, and the 101st Airborne Division. Those deployments gave him a unique appreciation for the importance of water — and what happens to a community when it disappears.
"With the right blend of technology and heart, we can tackle the world's most pressing challenges."
In 2015, Moses founded the Atmospheric Water Generation Company, and later established the Moses West Foundation to bring this technology to the communities that need it most: disaster-struck regions, marginalized neighborhoods, and places where infrastructure has failed.
THE TECHNOLOGY
Moses' Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) draws humidity directly from the air, condenses it, and filters it into safe, mineralized drinking water. No wells. No pipelines. No bottled-water supply chain. All it needs is air and power — including solar.
That simplicity is the breakthrough: an AWG can land in a hurricane zone, a contaminated city, or a remote village and start producing drinking water within hours of arrival.

THE FOUNDATION IN ACTION
From Flint to Vieques to the Bahamas to Ukraine — wherever clean water has run out, Moses and his team have shown up with a machine that makes more.
After a career in the U.S. Army, Moses turns his focus to water scarcity and begins refining AWG technology for humanitarian use.
Moses brings AWG units to Flint, delivering safe drinking water to families failed by lead-contaminated infrastructure.
Working alongside FEMA, Moses operates a solar-powered AWG on the island of Vieques — supplying an estimated 15,000 people with clean drinking water in the wake of one of the most destructive storms in U.S. history.
Moses deploys his homemade AWG to the Bahamas to provide endless clean water to communities devastated by Dorian — covered by CNN as 'the man who built a machine to bring endless water.'
The foundation raises funds to send AWG units into war-torn Ukraine, providing safe drinking water to civilians sheltering from the conflict.
AWG deployments reach a rural Texas town with no running water and tribal lands where access to clean water has been a generational struggle.
The City of Austin officially recognizes Moses West Day in honor of his service and humanitarian work.
The foundation's work is designated a UN SDG Action (SDG 6 — SDG Action #49191) for advancing sustainable water goals worldwide.
